Auditions
are held at Washington Irving High School
40 Irving Place, at the southeast corner of Irving Place and 17th Streets in Manhattan
every August before the start of each season, or as
needed.
Auditions for the 2007-2008 Season will take place August 21st.

Auditions will be posted here as vacancies open in the
orchestra.
The GVO is a volunteer community orchestra and
we do not pay our players, nor do we charge dues to our members.

Strings:
Please come prepared to play 2 solos of your choice. We
would like to hear some variety in bow stroke and in musical
style. Any selections from the 18th century to present are
welcome.
Winds & Brass:
Please begin with a solo of
your choice. You may be asked to play from the following
repertoire list. If you are having trouble finding any of
these excerpts, please contact us.
