George Berry — Trombone
George Berry has been the second trombonist of the Greenwich Village Orchestra since 2005, serving intermittently as acting principal. He has performed with the Astoria, One World, and Bronx symphonies, the Regina Opera, the Symphony of Winds and Percussion, the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble, and the Wagner Society of New York. George was formerly principal trombonist of both the Newton Symphony Orchestra in Massachusetts, where he also performed with the Plymouth Philharmonic, and the Ash Lawn Opera Festival Orchestra in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has also performed with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra and with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as in orchestras for over 30 musicals and operas, including Windwood Theatricals’ 2009 U.S. and Canada tour of Bye, Bye, Birdie. George is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Music.
