Born in Tel-Aviv 1986 to a musical
family, Itamar Zorman is the leading violinist in the
Israeli Army Orchestra and is graduating with honors from
the Hebrew University. He is currently a student of Hagai
Shaham.
Itamar graduated from the Israeli conservatory of music in
Tel-Aviv, where he started his violin studies at the age of
six with Saly Bockel. He continued his violin studies with
Professor David Chen, and Nava Milo. In 1998, he sang as
boy-soprano with the Israel Philharmonic under the baton of
Zubin Mehta, the solo part of Crumb's ancient voices for
children and Bernstein's Chichester Psalms under the baton
of Daniel Oren.
He preformed in several television programs and has been
recorded for the Austrian and the Israeli radio. As a
recipient of the America-Israel Cultural foundation
scholarship, Itamar participated in master classes with
Itzhak Perlman, Shlomo Mintz, Ida Hendel and Ivry Gitlis.
He has performed with the Jerusalem Symphony, the
Simfonietta Be’er-Seva and the Ramat Gan Camerata. He
participated in international music festivals including:
Keshet Eilon, Weathersfield (in Vermont) and Chatauqua (in
New-York). Itamar won the first prize in Claremont Contest
(2004), The Rubin Academy Jerusalem contest (2004), the
Israeli Conservatory Competition (2002), and the ISA
Budapest-Vienne-Prague Competition for contemporary music.
Recently, he won first prize in the Ben-Haim Competition in
Israel (2006) .
