Adriana Salgado

Adriana Salgado was born in Bogota, Colombia. Before becoming a professional dancer Adriana worked in the fitness industry as a group instructor and a personal trainer. Later on, she started her career in Modern Languages teaching at La Salle University in her hometown, simultaneously with her tango dancing. She has been a professional dancer and teacher of Argentine tango for over 15 years. In 1997, she met Orlando her actual partner and since then they have been performing and teaching worldwide. With a background in classical ballet and gymnastics she went on to study tango in Buenos Aires under auspices of renowned tango masters. International stages include United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Aruba, Argentina and her native Colombia.

She has been in the United States since 2007, where she has successfully performed at different venues in New Hampshire, Boston, New Jersey, Florida, Ohio and Michigan, among others. In New York City her performances include: NY Tango Festival in 2007, Tango Intimo in 2008, Tango Connection and Tango Noir in 2008 and 2009, Tango por Ellos in 2009, which received a nomination in the Latin ACE Award 2010 for Best Choreography, Mientras Tango in 2010 and 2011 at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in Queens, Stardust Dance weekends, and more recently, Dancing at Sea tango cruises in 2012 and 2013.

She has also performed and taught as a guest at the most recognized tango socials in New York City. Her enthusiasm, dedication and love for tango has won her recognition with awards at home where she has been acclaimed as one of the best tango dancers of Colombia. Her current teaching home studios are Stepping Out in New York and Rogers Dance Studio in New Jersey.
