Orlando Reyes

Orlando Reyes was born in Bogota, Colombia. He has been a professional dancer and teacher of Argentine tango for over 15 years. In 1997, he met his actual partner Adriana, and since then they have been performing and teaching worldwide. With a background in classical ballet and flamenco, he went to study tango in Buenos Aires under auspices of renowned tango masters. International stages include United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Aruba, Argentina and his native Colombia.

He has been in the United States since 2007 and has successfully performed at different venues in New Hampshire, Boston, New Jersey, Florida, Ohio, Michigan and with the PanAmerican Orchestra in Washington D.C. In New York City his performances include: NY Tango Festival in 2007, Tango Intimo in 2008, Tango Connection and Tango Noir in 2008 and 2009, Tango por Ellos in 2009, which received a nomination in the Latin ACE Award 2010 for Best Choreography, Mientras Tango in 2010 and 2011 at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in Queens, Stardust Dance weekends, and more recently, Dancing at Sea tango cruises in 2012 and 2013.

He has also performed and taught as a guest at the most recognized tango socials in New York City. His enthusiasm, dedication and love for tango has won him recognition with awards at home where he has been acclaimed as one of the best tango dancers of Colombia. His current teaching home studio is DanceSport in New York.
